Most relevant, Zuni Jewelry (Zuni: A:shiwi; formerly spelled Zuñi) is made by a Native American tribe, one of the Pueblo peoples. In addition, most live in the Pueblo of Zuni on the Zuni River. As a matter of fact, it is a tributary of the Little Colorado River, in western New Mexico. As a result, Zuni jewelry comes from 34 miles south of Gallup, New Mexico. In addition, the tribes owns the reservation and trust lands in Catron County, New Mexico and Apache County, Arizona. They cal their homeland Shiwinnaqin.
Equally important, the Zuni are famous for their fine silversmithing. Consequently, their silversmithing begins in the 1870s, after they learn fundamental techniques from the Navajo. In addition, Lanyade is the first Zuni silversmith, who learns the art from Atsidi Chon, a Navajo smith. Equally important, by 1880, Zuni jewelers set turquoise in silver. Furthermore, today jewelry making thrives as an art form among the Zuni. Most importantly, many Zuni have become master silversmiths and perfected the skill of stone inlay. 
Finally, they find that by using small pieces of stone, they were able to create intricate designs and unique patterns.
In general, small oval-shape stones with sharp ends are set in silver, close to one another and side by side. Consequently, the technique usually employees turquoise, sometimes with coral and occasionally with onyx, in creating necklaces, cuffs, earrings and rings. Finally, the fine Zuni jewelry setting technique is “needle point” and even finer, as “petit point”.
